New Canadians Share their Initial Expectations of the Canadian Job Market

June 20, 2016

Graduates of ACCES Employment's Leadership Connections program share their expectations of the Canadian job market upon arrival and how that changed with the support of ACCES.

“When I first came here, I thought that I had a very good profile and it would be easy to get a job here. But then I received no responses to my job applications. That’s where the Leadership Connections program came in to help me focus on my strengths and target companies.”

Realizing the realities of the Canadian job market will take time. It is important to ask for help from family, friends and employment agencies like ACCES Employment. Hear firsthand from three newcomers about their experience as they started their job search in Canada.
